Grace Giving Grace

The Prayerful Life No. 75

Sep 25, 2014

Saying For Today: For this Grace is Fulness Itself, and the more we are taken into Grace by Grace, the more we freely love, even if in a chosen appearance of obscurity or apparent weakness of presence.

Brian K. Wilcox, a Chaplain, vowed Contemplative in the Christian tradition, Associate of Greenbough House of Prayer, and Postulant of the Order of St. Anthony the Great, offers an interspiritual work focusing on cultivating the Heart of Compassion. His book of mystical Love poetry is An Ache for Union: Poems on Oneness with God through Love. Brian integrates wisdom from the major spiritual Paths. May you always know that you are blessed!

Entering the Inner Sanctuary

Enter this sanctuary time by settling down, becoming quiet, and breathing deeply a few breaths. Remind yourself you are in the Presence of Love. This place you are entering, within, is the inner Temple. Here, you are One with Spirit and all persons, and Nature. You may use a mantra, or prayer phrase, follow the breathing in-and-out, or witness the arising and falling of all around you as the manifestation of Creative Grace. Enjoy these moments of Quiet and come out when you are ready.

Holiness is not simply righteousness, for which the righteous merit the enjoyment of blessedness in the Kingdom of God, but rather such a height of righteousness that men are filled with the grace of God to the extent that it flows from them upon those who associate with them. Great is their blessedness; it proceeds from personal experience of the Glory of God. Being filled also with love for men, which proceeds from love of God, they are responsive to men’s needs, and upon their supplication they appear also as intercessors and defenders for them before God.

The Grace of Holiness is simply the Grace of God, meaning the Grace of Divine Presence, meaning, also, God. This Grace is Self-Manifesting, for this Grace is Love, and Love loves without need to call attention to Itself. For this Grace is Fulness Itself, and the more we are taken into Grace by Grace, the more we freely love, even if in a chosen appearance of obscurity or apparent weakness of presence. This Grace is invitational and has no need in Itself to be responded to, for Fulness is free of reliance on anything outside Itself. The more, again, Grace takes you into Grace, the more you love without awareness that you love, the more you move into a loving that is freer of intent to love, the more you love without any action of love, but from the Presence prior to action and that acts only for the blessing of others and as fruition of Itself as Itself-in-union-with others.
